SYRACUSE — Authorities have ruled the shooting deaths of a mother and her two daughters in January a murder-suicide.

In a press released issued Tuesday afternoon, Syracuse police said that based on information from crime scene investigators and the medical examiner's office, the  case is being closed as a murder-suicide.

Kyler Ann Ramsdell-Oliva, 32, and her daughters, Kenadee Oliva, 13, and Isabella Oliva, 7, were found dead on Jan. 14, in their Syracuse home after police responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired.

When police arrived they found Ramsedell-Oliva's former fiance there distraught over the deaths.

The couple and the girls had moved into the house in the fall of 2013. The night before the deaths officers went to the home to supervise an exchange of property between Ramsdell-Oliva and her ex-fiance who was moving out, according to Syracuse Police Officer Erin Behm. He and other family members and friends were questioned at the time of the deaths, but was cleared of any involvement.
