SYRACUSE – Black Island Farm, located in Syracuse, is teaming up with TNTrunning in order to do something creative with its land.

The “Redneck MUD Run” is a new event that will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3.

It is a 5K mud obstacle course that promises runners will “get muddy, wet and cool.”

Obstacles and events include the Slough Run, Carp Chaser, Hillbilly Hill, a free kids race, mud dance with a live band and other activities.

Register online at tntrunning.com. The cost is $35 per person.

For more information, visit tntrunning.com.

Black Island Farms is located at 3178 S 3000 West.

Although the race is still scheduled to occur, the ranch itself has gone through a tough time recently.

Charles Black, the owner of Black Island Farms, died in a single car crash earlier this month, and police were unsure of what exactly caused his death.

Black’s accident happened sometime around 8:50 a.m. near 750 North on Highway 89.
