BOUNTIFUL — A new way to teach youth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be discussed at the monthly dinner meeting of the Centerville chapter of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers on Monday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m.
David McConkie, first counselor in the General Sunday School presidency of the church, will give the presentation.
It will be an abbreviated version of the one he makes to ward and stake leaders and their youth throughout the church. It will be held at the Wight House, 95 N. Main, Bountiful.
McConkie was called to serve in the Sunday School presidency of the church in April 2009.
He works with LDS Family Services as the group manager of Services for Children, according to an SUP press release.
Prior to this, he practiced with the law firm Kirton and McConkie for 35 years, serving as its president. That firm often represents the church in legal matters.
He has also served the church in the roles of stake president and counselor in the stake presidency, high counselor, bishop and counselor in the bishopric.
The dinner is open to the public. The cost is $12.50. Make reservations by calling 801-298-1196.
