FARMINGTON — The man who slashed the throat of his brother’s friend last year has been sentenced to serve two terms of 1 to 15 years at the Utah State Prison.

Williams Thomas Dominguez, 31, was in 2nd District Court on Tuesday, April 29, where Judge David Connors ordered him to serve the two sentences concurrently and gave him credit for the 323 days he  has already served.

Dominguez pleaded guilty in March to one count of aggravated assault and one count of burglary, both 2nd degree felonies, for the incident that happened on June 10, 2013, at his brother’s home in Clinton.

On that date, Dominguez went to his brother’s home to discuss some family matters, police sad at the time of the arrest.  Another man came out to speak with Dominguez instead.

Police reported that Dominguez grabbed the man and slit his throat.

The victim’s throat was cut about 1/8 inches deep and ran about 8 inches long, police said. However, the victim refused treatment when paramedics arrived.

Police found Dominguez waiting at the scene and arrested him.
