SALT LAKE CITY – Brigham Young University’s Winterfest 2013 of music and dance will be held over three weekends in February, and Davis County residents are invited to attend any or all performances.
Tickets are on sale for the annual event, which will be held at the Conference Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City.
The cost of tickets is $10 per person, plus a $1.50 convenience fee added to the cost of any tickets purchased over the Internet.
The Ballroom Dance Company will open Winterfest 2013 with shows on Friday Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday Feb. 2 at 2 and 7:30 p.m.
The dance company combines traditional formation dances and standard ballroom steps with freshly choreographed numbers and energetic melodies.
The following weekend, the Young Ambassadors take the stage on Friday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 9 at 2 and 7:30 p.m.
The Young Ambassadors will present their show, “Harmony: The Music of Life.”
Then, on Feb. 15, the Living Legends, made up of Native American, Latin American and Polynesian performers will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.
Members of each ethnic group bring their traditions to the stage in music and dance.
The event closes with a performance by the Men’s Chorus on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2 and 7:30 p.m.
This is the first year the Men’s Chorus has put on their own concert for Winterfest.

They can also be obtained, based on availability, at the ticket office located at door of the Conference Center. The office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
