FARMINGTON — Three men who were arrested after allegedly assaulting and robbing a North Salt Lake man pleaded not guilty to charges.

Jaime Sanchez, 20, Jesus Velazquez-Zamor, 18, and Erick Moises Herrera, 18, were each charged in 2nd District Court with first-degree felony robbery and third-degree felony assault.

Police arrested the three after they allegedly assaulted a man sitting outside his apartment in North Salt Lake about 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 14. The men reportedly approached the victim after they had wrecked their car near the man’s apartment complex, police said.

When the victim asked if the men were hurt, they allegedly assaulted him, taking his wallet and keys. Police said they then stole his vehicle and crashed it. They were apprehended near the I-15 off-ramp at Center Street.

An Oct. 22 court hearing has been set for each.
