Woods Cross 62, Copper Hills 51
Filipo Mokofisi led the Wildcats with 14 points, and Skyler Farnes added 13 points as the Wildcats beat Copper Hills Tuesday night. The win was Woods Cross’ second straight and third in its last four games. The team will start Region 6 play Friday night at home against East.
Girls
Davis 52, Northridge 37
The Lady Darts won their sixth straight game and opened Region 1 play with an impressive victory over the Knights. Jessica Richardson led the team with 13 points, and Caitlyn Gibson and Natalie Mecham combined to score 17 points for the Darts.
Viewmont 47, West 42
The Lady Vikings opened Region 2 play with a hard-fought win over West. Viewmont had a strong second half, outscoring the Panthers 24-14, in order to get the victory. Caitlyn Larsen finished with a double-double, scoring 13 points with 10 rebounds and adding five assists and four steals. Katie Toole led the Vikings with 16 points, and pulled down eight rebounds for Viewmont.
Bountiful 64, Highland 33
Bountiful nearly doubled Highland’s score Tuesday night, outscoring the Rams 43-10 in the second half and holding Highland to a single point in the fourth quarter. Jenny Skedros finished with a game-high 22 points and Kennedy Merrick scored 17 points in the Lady Braves victory.
Clearfield 52, Woods Cross 42
Tied at 24 after the first half, Clearfield outscored Woods Cross 12-6 in the third quarter and never let go of the lead as the Falcons opened their Region 6 schedule with a 10-point win. Jocelyn Jones scored a game-high 23 points for Clearfield, and Bailey Douglas added eight points in Clearfield’s sixth overall win of the season. For Woods Cross, Halle Smith led the team with 17 points, and Eden Jacobsen and Marissa Brunner each added eight points in the loss.
