CENTERVILLE — The “Pioneer of Tomorrow” scholarship, given by the Centerville chapter of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers, was awarded to a former Viewmont High School student.

Jeremy Mueller, now a student at Weber State University, received the $1,500 scholarship. He is the son of Peter and Angela Mueller.

The chapter also awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Mitchell Best, son of Tracy and Carmen Best, thanks to a donation from the Angus Belliston Trust Foundation. Best is attending Utah State University.

The honorees were selected based on recommendation from their seminary teachers and by submitting an essay describing challenges they have overcome in their lives.
