BOUNTIFUL — After five seasons and three playoff appearances, the Viewmont Vikings football team will no longer have Brad Lloyd roaming its sidelines.
In steps new coach Scott Ditty, who was announced as the Vikings newest coach on Viewmont High School’s football website recently.
Ditty, a former assistant coach at Alta and Timpview, also served as defensive coordinator for Moorpark College and Reseda High School, both located in California.
Ditty played high school football in California as well.
In a phone interview with the Clipper Monday, former coach Brad Lloyd said he worked with Viewmont principal Dan Linford to "mutually agree" to step down as coach of the Vikings.
"I have another opportunity that came to me, and everything has fallen in place for me to take that opportunity," Lloyd said. "I want to thank the administration, the coaches, everyone there at Viewmont that have been so supportive to me over my five years."
Lloyd finishes his five year coaching stint at Viewmont with a 20-34 overall record and was 14-18 in region play. The 2011, the team won its first region football title in 38 years after posting a 4-1 record in Region 2 under Lloyd.
