l Farr wants to help girls with disabilities see their potential.

“Just because they have disabilities doesn’t mean they can’t change the world,” said Farr, a graduate of Bountiful High School. “I don’t look at their disabilities, I look at the abilities they have.”

Farr will be helping the girls see their potential next month, in the first-ever “Miss Amazing Pageant” held in Utah.

The Miss Amazing Pageant program got its start in 2007 when Jordan Somer, a Nebraska teen, formulated the idea as a way to help her community.

Her idea of holding a pageant for disabled women and girls, is now spreading from state to state, with Utah now involved as well thanks to the work of Farr.

The only cost for participants is five cans of food. Those who attend the pageant (other than the participant) will be asked to make a $10 donation.

All proceeds will be given to various organizations in the community, according to Farr.
