BOUNTIFUL – The Viewmont Vikings soccer team beat Layton 3-0 last Thursday, keeping its undefeated record in tact with one week remaining in the regular season.

In Region 6 play, Bountiful took care of Judge Memorial 3-2, and Woods Cross took a rough loss to Cyprus, 4-2.

Viewmont still unbeaten, shutout Layton 3-0

Viewmont scored a goal late in the first half against Layton in last Thursday’s Region 1 soccer match at Layton High School.

Two more goals in the second half sealed the game away, and Viewmont remained undefeated in region play and unbeaten overall in the 3-0 victory.

Lucas Cawley and Mike Johnson each picked up a goal in the second half.

Bountiful beats Judge Memorial, 3-2

Alex Simpson netted a pair of goals and Gavin Nadauld scored a third goal for the Braves when they took on the Bulldogs at home last Friday.

The trio of goals was just enough to get the win and stay within striking distance of first place in the Region 6 race.

Simpson’s goals brought his total up to 17 on the season. Nadauld’s goal was his second for the Braves.

Woods Cross downed by Cyprus, 4-2

Trailing the Pirates 3-0 after the first half, Woods Cross attempted a comeback by scoring a pair of goals in the second half of last Friday’s Region 6 match.

But a fourth goal by Cyprus put the game away for good as the Pirates took the home win, 4-2.

Kenneth Page and Luke Madsen each netted a goal for the Wildcats, who have gone 1-1-1 in their last three games.
