Vikings swimmers break records

The Viewmont Vikings girls’ swim team recently broke four school records on its way to winning the Greg Fernley Invitational, held Nov. 8-9 in St. Gearge.

The girls’ 400 yard medley relay team of Marah Smith McKenna Gassaway, Kelly Burnham and Mikell Rapp broke the school record with a time of 3:46.97. The 200 yard medley relay team of Smith, Gassaway, Burnham and Sienna Smith broke that record with a time of 1:54.24. Individually, Gassaway broke two more school records, the 50-yard freestyle and the 100 yard breast stroke. She broke each record with times of 25.56 and 1:06.76, respectively. Space did not allow for listing the names of all team members.
