LAYTON – Christmas is a great time to re-connect, even if it’s with a favorite band.
For their annual holiday concert, “DAC the Halls,” the Davis Arts Council will have the popular Utah band Voice Male back on stage. The group, which will be coming to Layton High School on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., last performed at the arts council’s fall festival a few years ago. Organizers have been trying to get them back to Layton to perform ever since.
“After the fall concert, we got a lot of requests to bring them back,” said DAC Board Chair Dawn Brandvold. “We tried to get them back for our summer concert series last year, but they weren’t performing as much. This was our first chance to get them back onstage.”
Voice Male is a six-man contemporary a capella band that bills itself as the oldest in Utah. Though they’ve done an annual Christmas show in Salt Lake for the last several years, this is their first in Davis County.
“We’re excited,” she said. “They’re a very popular group.”
Robert Heiser, a volunteer who handles the lighting at most Davis Arts Council concerts, also does “DAC the Halls” each year. According to Brandvold, Heiser really gets into the holiday spirit.
