BOUNTIFUL – An international student exchange program is seeking volunteers to help coordinate traveling students and host families.
ASSE, founded in 1938 and at one time known as American Scandinavian Student Exchange, now places students from Western Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Latin American countries, among others.
The organization places students 15 to 18 years old in semester- or year-long exchanges in the United States. Anyone interested in becoming an area representative for ASSE should contact the organization’s western regional office at 1-800-733-2773 or via email at asseusawest@asse.com.
Area representatives recruit and screen prospective host families, interview students to study abroad and supervise the exchange students in their communities, according to a press release. They are compensated based on the number of students they supervise.
