Vonda Knight Roberts, 84, died peacefully April 18, 2013 with the attentive company of her loving children Raymond, Lynnda, Venetta, David and Alan.

Vonda Knight was the 8th of 11 children born to Nathan Kinsman Knight and Lucy Stokes in Sigurd, Sevier, Utah, on December 6, 1928. After her mother’s death in October 1937, Vonda lived with her Aunt Permelia in Salt Lake City for a time before being reunited with her father and other siblings. She graduated from West High School in 1946. Her marriage to David Lynn Roberts on August 13, 1947 was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Most of their married life was spent in the East Mill Creek area of Salt Lake City where they enjoyed wonderful neighborhood and church associations.

Vonda took particular pleasure in quiet places like the woods of West Yellowstone where she excelled in trout fishing and wood stove suppers.

Vonda’s generous spirit as a devoted mother was felt beyond her 5 children, by 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

Vonda was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous positions.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary in Salt Lake City.

Our family extends a sincere thank you to Dr. Scott Burton, the staff of Heritage Place Assisted Living in Bountiful, Haven Home Health and Curo Hospice for their loving care and attention.
