BOUNTIFUL - They may be young, but they know how to cast a musical spell.
The Voodoo Orchestra, a jazz group made of some of the best high school musicians in the state, will perform a free concert on June 27 at 7 p.m. at Bountiful City Park. The group performed as part of the summer concert series a few years ago, a memory that has lingered with local residents.
“It was a big hit,” said Richard Watson, director of concerts. “We had people asking them to come back.”
Band Leader Caleb Chapman recruits the best jazz musicians from schools all across Utah for the Voodoo Orchestra. The band performs concerts throughout the year, increasing their touring schedule over the summer.
They have toured across the country, and performed at events such as the Telluride Jazz Festival.
Organizers recommend that those attending the concert arrive early in order to ensure seating. Volunteers will be on hand to accept donations from the Bountiful Food Pantry.
