OGDEN – Weber State was ranked 17th on a list of low-cost colleges with graduates who earn high starting salaries.
The list was compiled by Affordable Colleges Online, an organization that looks at fully accredited public institutions with in-state tuition of less than $5,000 per year, according to a press release. Graduates’ average starting salaries of more than $40,000 per year and the overall return on investment for degrees was also analyzed.
“In this climate of soaring higher education costs, prospective students should know that it’s quite possible to obtain a great education that lands them a well-paying job, but at a very affordable price,” said Affordable Colleges Online founder Dan Schuessler.
WSU is very mindful of costs, said Michael Vaughan, provost, according to the release. Majors such as nursing, computer science and engineering technology have consistent employment opportunities and command strong salaries.
