Woods Cross scores early to pick up win over East
The Woods Cross Wildcats had to find a way to bounce back from a tough 10-3 loss Friday at the hands of Cyprus.
The Wildcats shook off their first loss in Region 6 play by scoring three early runs against East on Tuesday en route to a 6-2 win.
The win improved the Wildcats’ region record to 8-1, putting them three games ahead of East in the standings.

The Wildcats’ three-run first inning lead almost disappeared when East closed the gap to 4-2 during the fourth inning; however, the Wildcats added runs in the bottom of the fourth and sixth innings, scattering nine hits overall.
Foutz got the win for the Wildcats, and Zach Valles took the loss.

The Pirate’s only other run came in the top of the seventh, but its rally fell short.
Tanner Redding and Ben Fowers pitched in the Braves’ victory. Redding picked up the win. Mason Jones and Ricky Medrano hit doubles in the win.
