Woods Cross XC teams take region crown

Woods Cross runners will head to the state championships wearing region crowns.

Both the girls’ and boys’ cross country teams took first at the recent Region 6 Championships, held in Salt Lake City on Wednesday. Millika Holbrook also took an individual region title for the girls with a time of 18:26.

The Woods Cross High girls’ team won with 23 points, the combined total of their top five runners. Bountiful High girls took second place with 46 points. The boys’ team won with 34 points, while Clearfield High boys took second with 48.

Individually, Woods Cross High’s Kacie Anderson took third place with a time of 19:16 in the girls’ race. In the boys’ race, fellow Wildcats Jacob Stone and Taylor Dillon took second and third place, respectively. Stone’s time was 15:46, while Dillon’s was 15:50.
