WOODS CROSS — A combination of years-old road construction and cold temperatures caused the ground to move enough to break a water main just east of city hall on Monday afternoon.
The break happened at about 3 p.m. near 720 West and1500 South, leaving about 40 homes without water until 10 p.m., said Woods Cross Public Works Director Scott Anderson.
Crews working in the frigid weather managed to get the line repaired and water service was restored to the neighborhood, Anderson said.
