Youth soccer coach to stand trial

FARMINGTON — A  former youth soccer coach will stand trial on 13 felony counts including rape and rape of a child.

In a preliminary hearing on Wednesday,  July 17, Steven Dale Green, 42, was ordered to stand trial in 2nd District Court for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old girl he had previously coached.

According to court documents, Green allegedly began having sex with the girl in 2008. The relationship allegedly continued for two years. Charges also include aggravated sexual abuse of a child and forcible sodomy.

Green was arrested in February by Bountiful police at the South Davis Recreation Center.

He will be back in court for a scheduling hearing on Aug. 20.
