FARMINGTON – It’s a chance to give a little service for the holidays.
The Frodsham Christmas Celebration, which provides Christmas to local families in need, will be held Dec. 22 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Legacy Events Center in Farmington. Organizers welcome volunteers to help run the different areas and lead the families around to the various activities planned.
“We’d especially love the help of anyone who speaks Spanish or Farsi,” said Jayna Scadden, one of the organizers. “We’re not sure how many Farsi speakers we’ll (need translators for), but we’ll definitely have a few.”
Organizers work with local agencies, who select the families most in need of some holiday help. The event includes warm clothes, wrapped gifts for the kids, horseback rides and more.
“I believe the spirit of Christmas is really shown forth at this party,” said Scadden. “It’s just such an important event to be a part of.”
Organizers would also welcome volunteers interested in helping with the set-up and take-down for the event. Set-up will run from 8 a.m. to noon, and tear-down will be from 3-5 p.m.
The Legacy Events Center is located at 151 S. 1100 West in Farmington. For more information about the event or to volunteer, call Scadden at 801-428-7784.
