BOUNTIFUL—Rates will increase for players at the Bountiful Ridge Golf Course starting on Jan. 1, 2018. City council approved the recommended increases during its final regular meeting of the year on Dec. 12.

Parks Director Brock Hill told councilmembers that “we have been in the position to maintain our current fee structure for the past three years, while continuing to compare favorably to the facilities that we compete with most directly for our customer base.”

He said increases in expenditures for golf course and golf cart maintenance, along with costs for fuel, batteries and other supplies, have necessitated the increase.

The current greens fees and new fees are as follows:

Regular (all day)

$16 new

“We are proud to say we’re one of the few courses in state that are in the black and 100 percent funded through user fees,” Hill said. The new rates are still lower than several other golf courses, including Davis Park, Valley View, Bonneville, Glendale and Old Mill.

Earlier this year, the city had an outside consultant study the rate structure of other municipal golf courses in the area, as well as provide an analysis of costs for maintenance and operations at Bountiful Ridge. The study recommended a fee increase to help keep the course operating in the black financially.
