Bountiful won two region matches last week against Woods Cross and Farmington, while Davis, Woods Cross and Farmington split their pair of matches. Viewmont went 0-2 this week.

Even though there was a volleyball match played Oct. 2 between Bountiful and Woods Cross, the “Dig Pink” evening took on a different meaning as both squads teamed together to help raise money for a local family of eight whose father has inoperable brain cancer and the mother is in remission from stage four ovarian cancer.

“Fans of both Woods Cross and Bountiful were very generous and we were grateful to be able to raise $2000 for this family,” head coach Sarah Chism said. “Along with the fundraiser, it was an exciting Region 5 rivalry match with a lot of good volleyball.”

The Braves defeated the Wildcats 20-25, 25-15, 25-18, 14-25, 15-10.

Against Farmington Oct. 4, Bountiful won 25-17, 27-25, 25-20.

The Braves are now 9-7 overall and 4-2 in the Region 5 standings.
