3 killed in wrong-way crash

WOODS CROSS—An early morning accident on I-15 near the 2600 South exit claimed the lives of three people when a truck traveling northbound in the southbound lanes collided with another car.

According to the Utah High Patrol, about 1:15 a.m. Friday morning a Ford pickup truck hit a Hyundai Elantra passenger car that was traveling southbound. The impact pushed the car off the road to the right and both passengers were killed. The truck came to a rest in lane three and became fully engulfed in flames. The driver sustained fatal injuries.

Authorities have identified those killed in the Hyundai Elantra as Samantha Sanchez, 23, of West Jordan and her passenger Paul Joseph Durocher, 40, of Draper.
