Bountiful crash kills one, injures two others

BOUNTIFUL—A 30-year-old man was killed early Friday morning after the car he was in rolled near 499 N. 200 West. A woman and teenage boy were injured in the accident, Bountiful Police Public Information Officer Lt. Dave Edwards said.

“It happened about 12:30 a.m.,” said Edwards. “A witness reported the car ran a red light at 400 North then swerved and rolled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle hit a fire hydrant, light pole, a tree and then impacted a residence. All three passengers were ejected, including the driver.”

The 34-year-old woman and 14-year-old teen were taken to the University of Utah with multiple fractures, Edwards said.

There was some damage to the exterior and interior of the home and the accident is still under investigation. The victims’ names have not been released.
