CLEARFIELD—Clearfield police arrested a certified nursing assistant Sunday for allegedly abusing two elderly residents at a local assisted living center.
Jason Harold Knox, 30, was booked into the Davis County Jail on suspicion of six counts of aggravated abuse of a vulnerable adult, according to a probable cause statement.
Police received a call to Chancellor Gardens Assisted Living Center, 1425 S. 1500 East on Sunday where they were shown a video relatives of a resident had recorded. The arresting officer said the video showed Knox allegedly shoving and elbowing the victim against the wall, the probable cause statement said.
Police said the video showed assaults on three different nights. The 71-year-old victim is in the memory care unit of the facility.
Authorities said the case is under investigation to see if there are other victims and the center is cooperating fully. The Davis County Attorney’s Office will screen the case before formal charges are filed.
