Woman assaulted at Lakeview Cemetery

BOUNTIFUL—Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who allegedly assaulted a woman near the sidewalk of Bountiful Blvd. at Lakeview Cemetery on the evening of April 27.

Officers responded to a report of a woman screaming for help about 10:20 p.m. When they arrived, the 33-year-old woman said an unknown male had assaulted her while out walking. Authorities said two witnesses heard the assault but did not see the suspect.

A search of the area was conducted using a police K9 but the suspect was not located. The victim sustained multiple minor injuries consistent with an assault and was treated at a local hospital and released.

The suspect is described as a Polynesian male in his early 20s, approximately 5’ 7” and 270 pounds. He had black hair down to his chin, untrimmed facial hair and was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans with tears on the knees and blue or black Nike shoes. Police said he asked the victim for money prior to the assault.

Police identify pawnshop robbery suspects

BOUNTIFUL—Police have identified the two suspects involved in the attempted robbery of a pawnshop in Bountiful May 4.

Kleydys Arbolaez-Hernandez, a 40-year-old man from Denver, Colo. was killed during the incident and Alexyanis Cutino Jimenez, 30 a Hispanic male with ties to Texas and Florida was still at large as of press time.

The two suspects entered Bountiful Pawn, 135 S. 500 West in the morning on May 4 and attempted an armed robbery. During a moment of distraction, the store clerk was able to retreat to a storage area and draw his concealed weapon. The armed suspect pointed a gun at the clerk after he followed him into the room. According to police, the clerk fired at the suspect, killing him. The other suspect fled the scene.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Jimenez. He is described as 5’ 6”, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was identified leaving the Denver area on or about May 1, 2018 with Hernandez to travel to Salt Lake City.

Jimenez has an active armed robbery warrant for his arrest issued May 9, 2018 in Oklahoma and is being sought nationwide, police said.

The suspect’s vehicle is a white 2005 Saturn Vue, Colorado license BMT182. Jimenez is considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 if you see the suspect or contact Bountiful Police with any information.
