NORTH SALT LAKE — Tui and Teresa Auvaa know what has been said about the economy. With constant reports of the economic sky falling, this Bountiful couple did what many have feared, they went into business. Purchasing Kneaders in North Salt Lake, the Auvaa’s went against the grain, but did so after researching the business.

“We are scratch bakery,” Tui said. “Everything people enjoy here is made from scratch right here. We knew this was a great business, and we believe in it so we weren’t afraid of the economy at all.”

Kneaders offers a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches and 40-50 different pastries in a quaint environment. Along with quality food, the Auvaas are very customer service-oriented. Tui believes when people spend their money they want both good food and to be treated well.

“The economy is tough so customers want to know when they spend money they are going to get good food and good service,” Tui said. “Our staff does a great job making sure customers get both.

“When you have a good product and you add service, things will work great.”

Kneaders is located on 2600 South across from Kmart and is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.

“We have a sign on the door that says ‘Man does not live on bread alone,’” Tui said. “That’s how we feel, and we believe in being closed on Sundays.”

This is a very refreashing change for the area, I have really missed Deli at the 5th and I must say this is even better with more variety
