Splash n Sprint Triathlon

The South Davis Recreation Center is holding sign ups for their opening triathlon event, the Splash n Spring Triathlon.

The triathlon will be held at the recreation center on May 14 and will include swim, bike and run portions of the race.

Prices for the event change depending on when people sign up, so residents are being encouraged to do so as early as possible. People interested in competing in the event can register at www.active.com.

April Egg Dive

The South Davis Recreation Center will be holding its fourth annual “Egg Dive” at the aquatic center.

The dive will be held on April 16.

Those interested in participating will need to bring a swim suit and goggles in order to search for the eggs. Plastic eggs will be tossed into the pool and each age division will have an allotted amount of time to retrieve the eggs.

Team water polo

The South Davis Serpents’ water polo team is seeking those interested in this exciting sport. From February through May the team will practice and compete but people are encouraged to sign up. The cost is $75. Contact cindy@southdavisrecreationcenter for more information.

Clearfield baseball sign ups

Registration for the Clearfield Youth Baseball season began March 1 and will run through April 1 for Clearfield City’s Youth Baseball Program.

Leagues will be formed as follows: Minors (third/fourth grade), Majors (fifth/ sixth grade), and Junior High (seventh-ninth grade).

Teams will play Mondays-Thursdays and games begin the week of May 9.

Games will be played at Fisher Park, located at 920 South 1000 East, Clearfield.

Fees are $50 for residents, $60 for non-residents. For more information, visit www.reconline.org.

Registration runs from March 1 to April 1 for the Clearfield City’s Softball program.

Divisions for the league are instructional (third/fourth grade), Elementary (fifth/sixth grade) and Junior High (seventh-ninth grade).

Clearfield T-ball league

Registration begins March 1 through April 8 for the Machine Pitch and T-ball leagues.

The T-ball league is for five-and six-year- old boys and girls and game days are Mondays and Wednesdays.

The Machine Pitch league is for 7- and 8-year-old boys and girls, with game days on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Play for these two leagues begins the week of May 2.

The registration fee is $35 for Clearfield residents and $45 for non-residents. For more information, visit www.reconline.org.

Clearfield adult rec leagues

Clearfield City has opened registration for three upcoming adult recreation leagues.

The adult softball, men’s slow pitch Tax Man Cometh Softball Tournament, women’s soccer and co-ed soccer began registering March 1 and will run through April 1.

Each league will have different levels of competition and play for the leagues will begin as early as April 25.

The Tax Man Cometh Tournament will be held Friday and Saturday, April 15-16 at Steed Park, 300 North 1000 West, Clearfield. There is a four game guarantee and the registration fee is $200 for the team.

Recreation Softball

Layton City Recreation is looking for people to sign up for the spring adult softball league.

Registration runs from March 1-28 and is open for all ages 16 and older.

Play begins in April and will be held at Ellison Park in Layton.

Recreation Volleyball

Layton City Recreation is looking for people to sign up for the spring adult volleyball league.

Registration runs from March 1-28 and is open for all ages 16 and older.

Play begins in April and will be held at Central Davis Junior High in Layton.

5K run to help children

Miss Davis County has put together a 5K fun run in an effort to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network.

The 5K walk/run event is considered a fun run and proceeds from the event will go the Children’s Miracle Network.

Registration for the run will be on the morning of March 19 at 8:30 at the Farmington Community Arts Center.

The run will begin at 9 a.m.

If interested in signing up for the event or for more information, visit the arts center at 120 S. Main Street in Farmington.

Golf league sign ups

Lakeside Golf Course is accepting sign ups for a few of its golf leagues.

Though the leagues have already started as of press time Wednesday, they will still accept anyone interested in playing league golf.

Openings include a men’s league, senior men’s league and a ladies league.

The men’s league began Monday, with the senior men’s starting Wednesday, March 16.
