WEST BOUNTIFUL -- During an evening dominated by budgetary matters, members of the West Bountiful City Council assumed their alter-identities within the city redevelopment agency and approved a 2004-2005 RDA budget.
The action took place in a special Tuesday night meeting held prior to the regularly scheduled council gathering.
Revenues for the budget totalled $336,700, $335,000 of which is anticipated through the RDA's tax increment financing authority. The remaining $1,700 was listed as "interest earned."
Expenditures were projected at $293,238. The largest item on the list was a $220,000 payment to the RDA's accepted developer Johansen-Thackeray. This will assist the firm in planning, designing and infrastructure.
The final tally ends up with $43,562 in the redeveloped agency fund.
The agency is charged with administrating work in West Bountiful's RDA project area. That zone is bounded by I-15 and 500 West, and 400 North and the ShopKo department store.
Speculation about the identity of the anchor firm for the development continues. Johansen-Thackeray officials report they are in negotiations with a major tenant, but have, so far, declined to name it.
