Here's what you need to know: The Braves play at 4 p.m. and the Vikings follow at 6 p.m.
Do what you need to in order to be at this Davis County doubleheader. These kids have played together on club teams and, along with Davis High and Woods Cross, have represented high school soccer in the most positive way. No mouthing off, no poor sportsmanship. Just hard-nosed playing that is bringing glory to all of us here in Davis County.
Get a babysitter, postpone church meetings, the wedding receptions can wait...come out and cheer our boys on to victory.
Now, be certain to get plenty of rest the night before the games and don't talk much on Wednesday or Thursday. Save your voices to make as much noise as possible for the games. Let's pour so many people into the stands that there won't be any place for our visitors to sit. Let's let the state know how much noise we can make when it's for our kids.
I, for one, will be there cheering. It's us against them in soccer, after all, and I'm a Davis County guy. I am the sports editor for the Davis County Clipper. These are my kids and they make me proud, just like the kids from all of our schools do.
So put down the needlepoint, work on the lawn another time. It's time to get out to Woods Cross and cheer our boys on to victory. Anyone who doesn't show up, we reserve the right to have your Davis County membership revoked.
