The Davis darts jumped out early and often against the host Brighton Bengals en route to a 28-6 win Friday night. Connor Van Brocklin picked apart Brighton, throwing for three touchdowns to teammates Nik Grunniger, Luke Thompson and Chase Flint in the first 12 minutes of play to lead 21-6.
The final Dart score came in the third quarter as Tanner Hinds raced back an 85-yard kickoff.
Davis (2-0) hosts Highland, Idaho, on Friday night.
JORDAN: 19, LAYTON: 13
The Layton Lancers had the opportunity, but it was knocked away by Jordan High's Sydney Bagrou. With less than a minute to play Friday night, the Lancers moved the ball inside Jordan's 5-yard line.
Quarterback Gavin Green's pass attempt to Haden Lomax would have been the game winner had it not been for Bagrou's heroics.
Layton (1-1) fell behind 19-6 at halftime but scored in the second half, setting up the chance for the come-back win. Next up for the Lancers is a home date with Timpanogos Friday.
OGDEN: 42, LAYTON CHRISTIAN: 0
Layton Christian had no answers for Ogden in the 42-0 rout. Ogden scored 20 points in the second quarter and never looked back. Layton Christian hosts Virgin Valley, Nev., Friday night.
