BOUNTIFUL -- For the Seventh consecutive year the Bountiful/Davis Art Center has invited several Utah Illustrators to feature some of their best contemporary working illustrations. The participating illustrators are: Rob Colvin, Steve Kropp, Paul Mann, Dilleen Marsh, Rob-ert McKay, Sherry Meidell, Greg Newbold, Anne Marie Oborn, Mark Robison, Randall Royter, Scott Snow, Perry Stewart and Jerry Thompson.

"We are excited to present this high caliber of working illustrators again to the public," said Arley Curtz, BDAC Director. "Some of them have exhibited here in past illustrators exhibits and some are new to the exhibition."

Bountiful artists Justin M. Hayward and Lester B. Lee will also be exhibited in the Patrons Gallery at BDAC.

Hayward was educated at BYU where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and New York Academy of Art where he received a Master of Fine Arts. Hayward has received numerous awards including being one of seven finalists in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition. He teaches oil painting at BDAC and has exhibited here in the past. His works are in oil.

He recently received a Huntsman Award of Excellence in Education. Lee received a BFA from Utah State University and an MA from BYU. He was also given the "Teacher of the Year" Award from Utah Arts Education Association. Lee has exhibited and taught at BDAC. He works mainly in oil and watercolor.

There will be an opening reception Friday, Jan.12, from 7-9 p.m. Participants are invited to meet the illustrators, taste hors d'oeuvres and listen to live music throughout the evening.

Admission to the museum is free. BDAC hours are Monday, 5-9 pm, Tuesday-Friday, 10-6 pm, Saturday 2-5.

BDAC will also host "An Evening with Illustrator William Maughan." He will discuss many aspects of contemporary illustration including the comparisons of fine art and commercial illustration as he has been very involved in both disciplines. The event will take place at Bountiful/Davis Art Center on Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. This presentation is sponsored by Brigham Young University Art Department and arranged by Robert Barrett, BYU Art Department, and one of the illustrators in the exhibit.
