WEST POINT -- Lakeside's four 3rd grade classrooms held a "mini mart" on Thursday, Dec. 2, where students have had many lessons on economics from classroom teachers and Horizon Credit Union.

Each third-grade student is responsible to make at home 25 items that can be sold at the mini market.

The day before they will set up their stands and will have to determine the cost, what they will make from their product, etc. During the day if the items are not selling at the price first determined, the student will have to make a decision as to having a reduced price for a sale.

Students have been very creative with the items they plan to sell.

The public and students purchasing will buy pink or green tickets valued at .25 and $1, respectively.

Food items were also sold.

It was a big day for the students as they learned practical applications of math, developing products, selling power, and more.
