BOUNTIFUL -- Barton's Scooters, Bountiful, recently donated two motorized scooters to two junior high students who showed the greatest gains in their reading scores during the 2003-04 school year. Anthony Eiting of Mueller Park Junior High and Brielle Craven of Fairfield Junior High were the lucky winners.

A limited number of students scored impressive gains and were eligible for the prize which was chosen in a drawing.

Barton's Scooters has donated scooters for several years to students who have made outstanding gains on their reading scores.

"The scooters are a wonderful incentive and encourage students to work hard to improve their reading skills," said Jill Snyder, Secondary Language Arts Specialist for Davis School District. "Young people love scooters so this reward really works."

Barton's Scooters is a small business in Bountiful, owned by Robert and Sue Barton.
