WX Book Club selects 'Bel Canto'

WOODS CROSS -- The Woods Cross Citywide Book Club has chosen as its next book selection: "Bel Canto" by Ann Patchett. This book was named Amazon.com's number one book in 2001. The book club will meet on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Woods Cross city hall multi-purpose room. The public is invited. For more information, contact Elizabeth Weiler at 294-4811. Books are available at "Me and My House" on Main Street in Bountiful. The book tells the story of a ragtag band of terrorists in South America who enter the vice-presidential mansion through the air conditioning ducts to kill the president, who has stayed home from a state event.The author slips in and out of the hearts and psyches of the hostages and terrorists alike, revealing a shared humanity.
