Kaysville-Fruit Heights pageants set

KAYSVILLE -- The Miss Kaysville-Fruit Heights Scholarship committee is looking for contestants for the Outstanding Teen program, which will be held July 21 at the Farmington Arts Center. Young women between the ages of 13-17 who demonstrate commitment, perseverance, talent and ambition are encouraged to participate. An entry fee of $50 and a short application are required.

Contestants will compete in talent, interview and lifestyle. The winner will go on to compete at the Miss Utah's Outstanding Teen contest.

The committee is also looking for contestants to compete for the title of Miss Kaysville-Fruit Heights. Women between the ages of 17-24 are invited to participate.

This pageant will be held Sept. 8 at Davis High School. Participants must be at least a graduating senior in high school. There is also a $50 entry fee for this pageant.

Contestants will compete in artistic expression, talent, presentation and community achievement, presence and poise, and lifestyle and fitness.

The winner will compete at Miss Utah in 2008. Contestants will be required to attend mandatory workshops and practices prior to the pageant to be eligible to compete.

The required paperwork is available on the Web site. All applications, essays and fees are due by July 14 for teen contestants and by August 11 for Miss contestants.

The Miss Kaysville-Fruit Heights and the Outstanding Teen program are official preliminaries to Miss America and Miss America's Outstanding Teen program.
