WOODS CROSS -- In spite of talk last spring about possible renovations and changes for the Wood Cross Kmart, a spokesperson for the Sears Holding Company in Chicago, which owns Kmart, tells residents not to hold their breaths. "There are no plans at all for any type of renovations at the Woods Cross Kmart," said spokesperson Kim Freeley. "Local shoppers shouldn't anticipate anything to be different."

This is a far cry from six months ago when local Kmart officials anticipated major changes, including a "Grand Cafe" and an Internet lounge where families could shop online.

They also expected additional upgrades in nearly two dozen merchandise categories. Even a type of "Sears Grand" format was discussed as a possibility for this fall. It appears, however, that things at the store will stay status quo for now.

"We are not in any position to make any changes there," Freeley said.
