The Lady Vikings beat Clearfield in three straight games 25-10, 25-18 and 25-12. With the victory, Viewmont improved to 13-1 overall and 7-0 in the region. Clearfield fell to 0-4 in league play and 1-4 overall.
Cidney Judkins led the Lady Vikings to victory by accruing 30 assists in the match. Again, Ariel Salvo was big for Viewmont in the win.
The Lady Vikings are currently number one in the state's 5-A rankings. They have been atop the rankings this entire season and show no signs of slowing down.
Viewmont is the reigning 2003 state champion and is the clear favorite to win it again this year. The main threats to them winning the Region 1 title will come from Davis and Northridge. But, the fact that both teams have already lost to the Lady Vikings during the first half of the league season says that Viewmont should be in really good shape to take the region.
Judkins proved that the Lady Vikings have a plethora of weapons to call upon in any given match. Micah Lines and Salvo are considered View-mont's leaders on the court, but the Lady Vikings continue to receive contributions from all of their players.
Viewmont has big matches this week at Davis today and at home against Layton on Thursday afternoon.
