PALM DESERT, CALIF. -- Four local school leaders were among 500 of the nation's top public high school principals attending the fourth annual Summer Institute of the nationally recognized Principals' Partnership. Ryck Astle, principal at Bountiful High, Rulon A. Homer, principal at Davis High, Vickie Ingram, principal at Woods Cross High and Judy Nixon, principal at Canyon Heights Alternative High School attended. During the four-day conference, the principals heard sessions on brain-based learning, improving literacy, smaller learning communities, leadership in an age of accountability, closing the achievement gap and using data to improve schools.
