SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Department of Transportation's Long Range Transportation Plan through the year 2030 will be available for public comment through April 26.

In addition to UDOT's plan, a separate plan, written by Wasatch Front Regional Council's staff will be available for comment beginning April 6, through May 7, and can be accessed through UDOT's Web site at www.udot.utah.

gov., or at local libraries. Input from Davis County residents is solicited.

"Public comment regarding the plan will help UDOT access the strengths and weaknesses of the state's plans to increase mobility and address further transportation needs," said John Thomas, UDOT planning director.

"Planning for future transportation projects is a comprehensive process that requires the input and perspective of community members, elected officials and public agencies," Thomas said.

He added, "Utah is experiencing tremendous growth and an increased demand for transportation facilities. Feedback from those who use our state highways on a daily basis helps us identify transportation solutions that will meet the needs of Utah communities."

Once public comments are reviewed, an executive summary of the plans will be produced and is due to be released statewide in July.
