BOUNTIFUL -- Dr. Mark H. Blaisdell, a practicing dentist in Bountiful, was recently installed as President of the Utah Dental Association at that organization's annual meeting. The Utah Dental Association consists of 1,300 members and is part of the American Dental Association based in Chicago. The ADA represents the majority of practicing dentists throughout the country.

At the Utah Dental Association meeting, held at the Salt Palace, members received continuing education in the newest delivery of care and current scientific research in dentistry. Clinicians throughout the country were invited to Salt Lake City to teach the most current dental procedures and techniques to attending dentists and staff.

Blaisdell will be meeting with local component societies throughout the state during the year. The Utah Dental Association reaches out in service with programs such as Give Kids a Smile that deliver dental services across the state to the underserved population.

Blaisdell has been serving the dental needs of Davis County residents for the past 24 years, employing the latest dental technology.

AAA drug benefit available

BOUNTIFUL -- With the cost of health care continuing to increase and no relief in sight, AAA has created a new benefit--AAA Prescription Savings--to help members battle the cost of staying healthy.

At more than 600 pharmacies throughout Utah, Nevada, and California, AAA members can now benefit from a discount on most prescription medications that are not covered by insurance. Savings average 35 percent on generic drugs and 15 percent on brand name medications. Participating pharmacies include Albertson's, Costco, Rite Aid, Smith's, and Target, as well as many others.

To obtain a discount, members should simply present a valid AAA card before paying for prescriptions. Nearly 18 percent of AAA members have no prescription drug insurance coverage. The program is available to members and their families, regardless of age.

Information about participating retailers is available at www.aaa.com/savings.

The AAA Prescription savings cannot be used in combination with any other medical insurance plan.
