School vacations coming soon

All schools in the Davis School District will be closed Monday, May 31 for the Memorial Day weekend. Classes will resume Tuesday, June 1. The last day of class for traditional schools will be Friday, June 4. For year-round schools, summer vacation begins Friday, July 2, with classes resuming Monday, July 26.


Summer school programs abound

All high schools and many junior high and elementary schools in the district will be offering summer school learning enhancement or make-up classes.
Washington Elementary School will offer a summer program from June 28 to July 29,which includes reading tutors, creative writing and math activities. Classes are offered from 9:30-11:30 a.m. five days a week. Additional activities have also been planned. All Washington students are invited to attend. For more information call 402-1950.
For other school schedules, call individual schools. Some schools will allow students from other schools to attend classes as space permits.


Fun continues to the end for CJH

CENTERVILLE -- Students at Centerville Junior High have already participated in the school's production of "Guys and Dolls" held at Rodgers Memorial Theatre, the Spring Band Concert, the Charger Merit banquet, and the spring choral concert this month. And there's more to come.
A Night of Excellence has also been planned for Tuesday, June 1, to honor students nominated by each department.
