KAYSVILLE -- The driver of a truck which wound up submerged in one of the Kaysville ponds on the east side of I-15 Thursday morning was arrested on DUI charges.
Cory Haws, 21, Hooper was northbound on I-15 about 11 a.m. when he apparently passed out and his pick-up truck struck the center cement wall of the freeway.
His pick-up then crossed all three lanes of travel and left the roadway on the right side, going through a fence and traveling about 75 feet into the middle of the pond, completely submerged.
Several people went to Haws' rescue, but he crawled out on his own through a window.
Troopers found a canister of keyboard dusting agent, which they believe Haws had been inhaling prior to passing out.
