The fair is scheduled for April 21 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and will feature different demonstrations, booths and a possible visit from the "Life Flight" helicopter.
"People can browse through our community booths, which will include information on the fire department, CERT, animal control and safety for pets and 72-hour emergency kits," White said. "People will learn about child safety and how to be prepared financially and insurance-wise in case of a disaster such as a flood or earthquake. People will also be instructed on how to put the 72-hour kits together."
The Emergency Fair will feature informative lectures from keynote speakers, given on a 20-minute rotation basis, to give a more up-close view of safety and emergency preparedness for the community.
"We'll have our guest lecturers talk about things like flood and earthquake insurance and emergency plans, and we're working on getting Marilin Hoff, the 'Earthquake Lady,' to speak here and go over things because she gives such a great presentation," White said. "We'll even have people selling emergency supply essentials at the fair."
The fair will also feature presentations from both the local police and fire departments.
"The police department will lecture on the importance of safety seats for children, and the fire department will talk about extinguishers and let people test them out to see how to use them properly," White said.
The Emergency Fair will be at Farmington Junior High at 150 S. 200 West in Farmington on April 21 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. For further information, contact Paul White at 451-5108. dradunich@davisclipper.com
