BOUNTIFUL -- With winter right around the corner, Bountiful City is aiming to help clear the clutter with its annual fall cleanup, set for next week, Oct. 8-12.

Beyond regular trash pickup, city crews will remove refuse that has been appropriately bundled, bagged or boxed.

According to the City, tree limbs must be cut and bundled in five-foot lengths, and any bundles must not exceed 50 pounds.

Miscellaneous items, such as furniture or appliances, should be placed on the drive approach or parking strip, not on the street or sidewalk.

All trash, bundles, bags and boxes must be ready by 7 a.m. on your regular trash pickup day.

Also during the cleanup week and the following week, the Bountiful landfill will not charge residents the regular $3 fee. The landfill cannot accept tires or propane canisters. From November through May, the Bountiful landfill will be open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In a related note, Bountiful City will be conducting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program on Saturday, Oct. 13, for Bountiful residents only. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the City's maintenance facility, located at 200 W. 950 South in Bountiful. Details can be found in a flyer accompanying Bountiful utility bills.
