Davis teacher gets national English award

KAYSVILLE -- The Utah Council of Teachers of English/Language Arts se-lected Mark Spen-cer, a teacher at Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah, to receive the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) High School Teacher Award for 2006.

The award is based on evidence of excellent classroom teaching of English at the secondary school level (grades 6-12).

Each local affiliate of NCTE may select one person annually for this honor, submitting documentation to the national organization.

The award will be made at the Secondary Section Luncheon on Nov. 18, 2006, during the NCTE Convention to be held in Nashville, Tenn.
