Tuesday night, Nov. 13, there will be a dinner with a live Christmas tree auction beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Donors have created decorated Christmas trees with a variety of themes which will be auctioned to the highest bidder.
Proceeds will benefit Safe Harbor, which provides shelter for female victims of domestic abuse and their children.
Evergreens began in 1997 to help the women's shelter in Davis County open.
A combined effort of Women in Business, Medical Auxiliary, DCCAV and other volunteers created the auction of decorated Christmas trees (with about 10 trees and the same number of wreaths and other decor) displayed in Five Points Mall in Bountiful, Utah.
That first auction brought in more than $6,000, which helped open the shelter with food and money to pay for utilities for the 35 women and children who filled the shelter to capacity shortly after opening.
Each year Evergreens has grown larger and found new locations to meet the expansion required by more trees, added craft booths and food.
From Five Points, it then moved to the Davis FairPark and later St. Olaf Catholic Church, where $35,000 as raised.
In 2004 the tree festival moved to the Davis Conference Center, where it has grown to the point of having less room for crafts as more groups step up to decorate trees.
