Davis County payrolls showed continued strength, expanding by 3,800 jobs (4.0 percent) in the past year. The unemployment rate was 3.3 percent in the latest month, down from 4.4 percent one year ago.
That compares to a job growth of 2.3 percent in Weber County, 2.2 percent in Cache County, 4.3 percent in Salt Lake County and 4.7 percent in Utah County.
Davis County's 3.3 percent unemployment rate compares to 3.8 percent in Weber County, 2.8 percent in Cache County, 3.4 percent in Salt Lake County and 3.1 percent in Utah County.
The U.S. economy added 128,000 net new jobs in August, in line with economists' projections. As expected, the U.S. unemployment rate declined to 4.7 percent in August from 4.8 percent in July.
